As a matter of principle, STG do not have sales agents or satellite offices – everything is concentrated at our Bedford office. Thanks to technology, contact with both customers and partners is seamless, even to the most remote parts of the world.
Partners is a term that STG use for a wide range of suppliers – all with a similar ethos. Some provide hardware, in the shape of trucks, ships, aircraft or whatever. Others provide technical support – local feasibility studies, route surveys etc. Without putting too fine a point on it, some may be expert a dealing with the level of bureaucracy, which varies enormously from country to country.
In many of the cases, the relationship goes back many years. Sometimes it is a “one off”, unlikely to be repeated and yet still retained, just in case. Partners who have contributed enormously in Ghana, South Africa and New Zealand will not be forgotten – their help in successfully completing a challenging project was vital.
